Getting started · The advice process

From First Conversation to Implemented Strategy

Every client journey is different, but our advice process is designed to be structured, transparent and easy to follow. From the initial discussion through to the delivery of advice, the process typically takes around three weeks, although timeframes may vary depending on the complexity of your circumstances, the information required and the scope of advice being considered.

Our process

Structured, transparent, unhurried.

Our approach follows a clear and consistent framework that has been refined through years of working with individuals, families, business owners and retirees. The objective is not to rush decisions, but to ensure recommendations are carefully considered, appropriately documented and aligned with your personal objectives, financial situation and needs.

Throughout the process, we take the time to understand your circumstances, gather relevant information, assess opportunities and risks, and develop recommendations tailored to your situation. Advice is then presented in a clear and structured manner, allowing you to understand the rationale behind any recommendations before deciding whether to proceed.

Importantly, the pace of the process is determined by your circumstances and decision-making requirements rather than an imposed timeline. Some clients require advice within a relatively short timeframe, while others prefer a more considered approach, particularly where significant financial decisions are involved.

Our focus is on providing a professional and well-documented advice experience that gives you the confidence to make informed financial decisions. By following a structured process and maintaining open communication throughout, we seek to ensure that every recommendation is appropriately researched, explained and supported before implementation is considered.

Understand your goals.

Before anything else, we ask what the money is for. Retirement, a child's education, a business exit, a family legacy, the question seems basic and it is the one most advice skips. Good planning starts here or it starts nowhere.

Meet an adviser.

A first conversation, around 60 minutes, no fee. The goal is mutual assessment: can we help, and would you actually want us to? If the answer to either is no, we say so. This is an initial discussion and does not include personal financial advice.

Receive a tailored plan.

A written Statement of Advice, setting out the recommendation, structure, costs, risks and alternatives considered. You read it. We walk you through it. You proceed only once your questions have been answered.

Open your account.

Cash, brokerage, super rollover, SMSF establishment, whatever the plan calls for is coordinated by our operations team, with external providers involved where required. Timelines are agreed up front.

Review, every year, for as long as it helps.

Life changes. Markets change. Rules change. An annual review is the minimum; we are on the phone whenever circumstances shift in between. You have a continuing adviser relationship.

Ready when you are.

The first meeting is ours to earn. No fee, no obligation, no product pitch.
